Look at yourself from a different view- may help

I noticed two things when I looked at myself, and my hairline, head on in the mirror today. First of all, if you don't shave your forehead looks a lot bigger. It's because the darker colored features don't show up as well. Shaving makes the lower half of your face just as prominent as your forehead, creating sort of an illusion of having a smaller forehead.

Second, when I look at myself from the side using 2 mirrors, my hair line doesn't look nearly as bad as it does from head on. I think this is because you can see far more hair on your head from a side view than you can from the front. From the front all you see is the hair on top and sides, but from the side you see mostly a hairy head. Anyway, try it. You might realize that your hairline isn't as bad as you usually see it (head on). So it probably doesn't look as bad to others as it does to you.

Just random thoughts.

Random thoughts, but good thoughts

I have been thinking about this recently and have come up with two things.

Firstly not really a hairloss thing but...has any ever looked into a 'doppleganger mirror'? quite weird as it shows you your face as the rest of the world sees it, not the reflection you see in the mirror, where left is right and right is left, the difference in one of these mirrors is suprising!

On a more hairloss related note, I was recently in London Zoo with my girlfriend (human) and in one of the exhibits (the bugs and spiders) there was a TV monitor showing forests being burnt or something like that, but around the monitor was 4 mirrors angled so that they created the illusion of a giant ball of monitors.

When you stuck your head into the mirrored box thing you could see hundreds of images of yourself in the mirrors from every conceiveable angle, this I thought would be great for slapping stuff on your head, especially the back/top.

I am currently in the proccess of knocking one up, if anyone here would like me to post an image of my design for this or the doppleganger mirror just ask, they are both very simple to make at home and will cost you next to nothing.

cheers

Yeah, I saw myself on video a couple days ago after we filmed our 'hurricane party' (funny stuff) and my hair didn't look bad at all on camera. Looks different when you see it close up in bathroom lights.

Same for me. That's why, when talking to someone, I either stand side on or with my head twisted far round to my right (shows off my best side). This can be hard to pull-off without comment, especially when talking to groups of people as this requires a state of constant motion to maintain the effect.
