Imagine you are just beginning to notice hairloss and get on Propecia right away. Judging by the hair count graph, you probably would not begin to notice hair loss again for another 10 years after beginning treatments. Of course, in 10 years time there ought to be more effective treatments or even a cure.

Jeff, you have diffuse thinning. Have you had blood tests? DHT may not be the cause.

I had my blood tests done. tested thyroid etc.
should there have been something more specific to test than that?
everything seemed to be in "range"

I'm looking at the papers from my bloodwork now.. what could be the cause if DHT isnt to blame??

Iron deficiency is highly associated with diffuse hairloss specifically, so this could be something to look out for, even in the absence of anaemia. However, you should also ask family members/parents if they have ever been diagnosed with anaemia.

There are numerous diseases in which inflammation occurs in the skin or internal organs, and this too can be associated with diffuse hair loss.

That said, it could well be DHT that is causing the problem. Propecia takes 12 months to work in many people.

ACCORDING to this chart after the 2 year mark we will begin to receed AGAIN! YOu guys see this and not get scared?

Just curious according to this chart we will begin to lose hair again and get worse after the 2 year mark?

Unfortunately, I must have been one of those few people who didn't respond to finasteride well. I did get the sexual side effects, however.

Let's see here...

In the course of a year, whereby I had no scalp visibility, just thinning of the hair, I have now managed to lose much more, with scalp visibility very high now.

I think that I may have responded, but only for 6 months.

Let's see how the dutasteride works.
