Ok, so usually it's 3-6 months before any regrowth is visible (of course in many cases there is no regrowth at all even though finasteride is working). But what is the longest time you have heard or experienced yourself that first sign of regrowth occured since starting finasteride? 9 months? 12 months? 16 months?

Thats a difficult question as most individuals who take the plunge to start finasteride also use Minoxidil.

Where have you got that figure from?
It's normaly around 12 month before you have any chance of seeing regrowth on finasteride alone.

3-6 months is the time to Finasteride START working. After that time, if you're a good responser, your hair will grow. So it's usually 6-12 months to see results. We can tell that the 8th month is the Finasteride Boom :)

Well some two weeks into Propecia for me, i started noticing a weakness in my erections, doesn't that mean that finasteride has already begun working then?

Indicates that the finasteride is blocking the DHT lvls as it should. But it doenst speed up the growth cycle of the hair folicala. Only allowing it to grow with out being attacked by DHT and allowing the thin ones to hopefully reheal and grow thicker.

This is why most treatments clearly state to allow any hair growth regime 6-12 months more so the 12 month mark.

I took Propecia on and off for a couple of years (mostly on) and never really noticed any regrowth. However, my thinning has been almost entirely at the front of the hairline, which is apparently not something Propecia is great at regrowing. FWIW, I never noticed any additional thinning while on the medication, so it was doing its job in that respect.

I've been using Fincar for the last two weeks and am going to ride it out this time. I've noticed a slight drop in libido, but I'm trying to have perspective here and going to give my body enough time to adjust to the drug before I panic.

Since my thinning has been at the front of the hairline, I'll also be incorporating minoxidil into my regimen shortly.
