I now use minoxidil once a day and have discountinued nizoral 2 percent because my scalp felt like sh*t! (totally dried up and burning sensation) How important is it to listen to your scalp and adapt to what it tells you? I personaly think a generic finasteride, minoxidil twice a day and nizoral 3-4 times a week could not possibly work for everyone's scalp.

Viper I quit using Nizoral over a year ago because it dried the heck out of my scalp. The problem with most topicals is they contain alcohol to deliver the drug and I think it can be too drying for the scalp. I guess the foam is not too bad because it contains less alcohol than the liquid. I went back on the foam now for about 3 weeks and just now I am starting to notice how nicely it thins out my hairline so much more. I just love how minoxidil thins out my hairline better than nair hair removal. Am I going to stop again. Nope. I am just going to ride this out and just hope it comes in thicker in a few months. I remember last year my hair looked thick around early October. Let's see if my hair stays on that same cycle. I can honestly say this year was my worst year so far for the hairline. So I guess to answer your question, if you scalp is dried up more its best to either stick to the treatments and try to use Emu oil or conditioners to moisturize your hair and scalp or quit them. I thought Nizoral does not do as much as minoxidil or Propecia so I quit using it. I figure using Nano shampoo is probably better anyway.
