Liquid To Propecia To Foam = Disaster

hello all I am desperate and I need some very genuine advice. I started suffering when I turned 21 and I am 23 now. I started using liquid about a year and a half ago and have had fantastic results! But I was still thin in some spots and I wanted to stop the root of the problem. Therefore I got on propecia. So here's where it all went wrong... As soon as I got on finasteride I told myself there must be no reason for me to continue minoxidil because whatever I gain would be retained but eventually after a month I lost everything I had gained and was thinning fast. So after about two months I started rogain foam so I could combat the issue. Well I am almost on my third can and I have completely destroyed my hairline. Sorry I should have mentioned earlier that's where I'm trying to apply and fix. My thought process is first I had to shed from stopping liquid, then I must have shedded more because I started finsatefide, then I started foam so I must be shedding from that too. Well I am just starting my fourth month of finastetide and about month two and half of foam and I have completely hit rock bottom. What I need to know from you guys is if I should just give up foam and ride it out until things stabilize or keep using the foam no matter what I go through. Right now I am either going through the biggest shed that ever lived or rogain foam is decimating my hairline. Here are my pictures and I need some honest opinions. Because everywhere I put the foam that area turn horrible!!!! Is the foam doing harm? What is happening??? The first pic is my pre findateride liquid hair and the second one is propecia and foam after four and two months.

I can't see any pics? Is there a reason you went on to the foam instead of the liquid again? This could be just a shed, it's very hard to say to be honest. I would have probably just gotten back on the liquid as that is where you originally gained hair. Really need to see pics to see how much you have shed if possible

I don't see any pics, but from what I am able to gather it sounds like you lost your minoxidil gains when you dropped it, meanwhile you probably had not been on propecia long enough for propecia gains, and now you are back on minoxidil as well, and you may be experiencing an initial shed as a result of propecia, minoxidil, or both

My opinion is that you should continue with both and try not to freak out. You know from previous experience that you are a minoxidil responder, so should be no worries there, and propecia takes a while to give results for many people

Do you really want to be on minoxidil your whole life? The fact that you discontinued as soon as you got on propecia suggests you always felt like it was a bit of a pain in the ***. Most experiences suggest it doesn't have long term (5-10 years) efficacy anyway. Minoxidil is a waste of time on the hairline to be honest because it doesn't tend to have long term efficacy the kind of people bothered to do that bullshit are the kind of people who give enough of a sh*t about their hair to eventually get a transplant.

Like Kj said you're a minoxidil responder so it wouldn't be a bad idea to continue it, but ultimately you're always in that position of being tied to the gross liquid that makes your hair look sh*t, dries your skin, and inhibits collagen synthesis to make your face look like schit too.

The problem is that you stopped one drug, started another, restarted minoxidil and now you lost ground compared to before.

I had exactly opposite reaction. I used foam for two years with a great success. Switched to liquid and it destroyed my hairline within few months (I kept using liquid for two years hoping it was only normal shed). Im now back to foam again and recovery has begun. It seems my scalp cant handle liquid minoxidil at all.

Yeah I've read that before that some people respond better to foam or to liquid.

Hello all thank you for the quick responses! My pictures did not post initially because I am on my iPhone. When I get to my desktop I will re upload. But be prepared for a shock because the difference is nothing less than staggering. From what I'm reading, I either need to get back on liquid (I was using lipogaine) or ride out this nightmare. I'm going to my softball right now so I will hit you guys up with the pictures later tonight. I did buzz my head just as a heads up because I felt like if I did that I could really see the strength of the hairs and where the gaps are. It was a sh*t decision because now I'm super self conscious. Anyway stay tuned for the pictures this evening
