Link Between Body Hair & Hair Loss

My Granddad, Uncles and my Dad all have sevre body hair growth and also lost their hair at a early age. I'm really worried now, because my body is very hairy, my legs are literally covered in hair. Whenever I shave my facial hair it grows back the next day thick and long. So many derms have highlighted the link between Body Hair and Hair Loss, which makes me think the higher testosterone the likely it will be converted in DHT.

My question... Is there any way I can slow testosterone production. Any medications, supplements, drinks or anything I can do to slow it down? I'm already trying to stop DHT, and maybe stopping testosterone may help..

I would like to know this too.

Its a strange one because the majority of bald men (that i have seen) have hairy chests and backs, yet most men with full heads of hair (again that i have seen) are as bald as a baby on their body, now im not some weirdo going round looking at mens bodily hair all the time, the reason i have noticed these 2 trends is that i have been looking out for it for many years as i heard some theory about it years ago when i was about 19, whcih was the time when i started growing lots of body hair and started slightly thinning too.

The other argument is that alot of asain (pakistani, iranian etc) men have very hairy bodies, but have a better ratio of a hairy body and full head of hair than white men, again just my opinion from what i have seen over the years

Could be complete nonsense also !

I've seen a few men that are ape-hairy (carpet chest etc) and who are perfect NW1's.
I also know a NW6 who isn't that hairy (but he is very overweight)

those two anecdotals can knock this generalisation on it's head, but for the most part, I believe it is true.
DHT stimulates body hair and inhibits scalp hair, so those baldies with lots of DHT will have lots of body hair. Makes sense.

I am medium hairy. Hairy arms and legs but not anywhere else.

I am probably one of the LEAST hairy men on earth and I started thinning at 21.

I am pretty sure I had the hairiest legs and pubic area in Junior High. Funny thing is I really didn't start getting chest hair, armpit hair, and facial in till I started thinning.

I don't think there is much correlation, I have seen guys with a full head of hair and beards that easily rivaled ZZ Top. It's just genetics.

What's next "I've noticed that more tall men are bald compared to short men"? :shakehead:
All people are different.

I don't think you can tell that a person will go bald depending on body hair.

But lowering dht levels does have an effect on body hair. After a year on finasteride the hair on my head has thickened and darkened, but everywhere else my hair seems to have been reduced as well as being a bit lighter.

I thought there was a link between the two :smack: ???

You see, body hair is secondary sexual characteristic and is meant to separate the men from the boys  . With the onset of puberty the androgens start producing body hair, and with people susceptible to balding they also cause hairloss :sobbing: .

I'm not ape like hairy, but I'm probably hairier than the average. I know the perfect male image portrayed in the media is a hairless man, and I was seriously thinking getting laser hair removal or something. The lady I'm with right now, talked me out of it. She likes the feel of hair, it's extra stimulation for her :jackit:

Most of the hairy men I know also happen to be bald/balding. But, I also know a very hairy man who has perfect hair :dunno:

i see on the news, a bottle of soymilk intake for along time(i cant remember but near 2 years) can lower the dht but grow boobs like a woman's. low dht means less body hair
