LIGHTENING HAIR-NEED OPINIONS

I have the wonderful scalp show-through going on and as my hair is a medium to dark brown it makes the contrast that much more. I have read suggestions of lightening the hair to make the contrast less.
I know that hair coloring is not "supposed" to make your hair fall out BUT I'm reluctant to do anything that could be potentially hurtful, still I don't want my shiny scalp shining through!
Any input would be appreciated!
Thanks.

cosmetic coverups

Hi lentara,

I feel your pain...my hair is recently see-through as well, even though I still have quite a bit. I'm going straight to hairpieces, because I need hair on top of my head to counterweight my face. However, if this is not an option for you, have you considered Toppik or Dermmatch?

Both of these will disguise your scalp and make your hair appear fuller. I have very dark brown hair, and I sometimes use these in a situation where I know I'm going to be in bright light or something. It may be something to consider before you dye your hair.

Thanks :)
I do use couvre on a regular basis and sometimes toppik. I tried dermatch but did not like it as well.
I've tried hair pieces and I'm just not comfortable with them yet.
Still hoping to regrow my own hair, I guess :hairy:
