Lesions on head from hair loss or something else?

So went to doctor telling him I had an itchy and inflamed scalp and hair loss and asked for finasteride. He said it might be fungal infection and had me take antifungal meds for 6 weeks, didn't help, then put me on allergy meds for 2 weeks, didn't help. And now just finished anti biotics for 2 weeks and it still hasn't seemed to help. So can lesions be caused from normal male pattern baldness or is it from something else, because my hair is still falling out rapidly and I'd like to get on finasteride before its all gone but I'm not sure what he is going to do after I go back in this week and it still isn't better. Anybody have any insight?

I've never heard of such aggressive male pattern baldness to loose all your hair in the period of only a couple weeks. I recommend shaving you hair to a buzzcut if you hadn't done already to really see what is happening. I would just wait the week, maybe try ordering nizoral and getting extra cold showers to help cool the inflammation. Obviously it won't do much, but it won't hurt to try.

Well what do you mean by lesions? Pimples? I had something similar happen to me in November. I got an itchy scalp, a weird growth called a keratosis that randomly appeared, some skin colored bumps, and lost 60% density to the left side of my head in a week.

Be more specific because I've been to a lot of derms now and done loads of research. I might be able to help you

I haven't lost it over a couple of weeks I've been losing it for a couple years lol, but it accelerated and my scalp started getting itchy after using minoxidil.

It started after I took minoxidil, I've had an itchy scalp and irritation since then.
