Leaving hair gel/wax on overnight.

As per the title guys, does leaving hair gel on overnight(while going to sleep) have any bad affect on hair?

I don't think it would have a bad affect. Why couldn't you just get your hands wet and hand wash your hair in the sink and towel dry it right before getting into bed?
