Lasercomb's FDA approval

It was cleared by the FDA on safety grounds not effiency but hairmax uses that as a loophole so they can state that their product is 'FDA approved ' like propecia and minoxidil. It's total bull and a scam. They prey on the vulnerable and insecure to make money and it's disgusting.

I have the HairMax Laser Comb Professional 12 Model. It's good for what it's supposed to do if you have the knowledge and take the time to use it to your advantage. It helps to improve the quality of hair, help with hair growth, and stimulate the scalp. Obviously, it's far too weak to halt Androgenetic Alopecia, that's when you'll need to use a 5-AR inhibitor. Also, it's FDA cleared, not approved.

the HairLossTalk.com page on lasercomb needs to be changed then because it states 'approved' rather than 'cleared'.

how much did it cost you Agustin?

I'm wondering if it's a viable alternative to Minoxidil as a growth stimulant - if it works as well (a big if) - it has several advantages over minoxidil, but one major disadvantage: the humungous price tag

Yes, it's FDA cleared, not approved.

I don't remember the exact price, but I paid approximately $550.00 for mine. I bought mine directly from the manufacturer. I've currently had it for over two years and it still works as if it's brand new. I use mine everyday right after my daily shower and pass the laser comb over the top of my scalp for approximately five minutes since I have thinning in a NW6 pattern. Using it 3x a week is too little, at least for me.

Think thoroughly if you really want to pay a big price tag to add LLLT into your regimen. I even talked to a hair and scalp specialist to know if it was a good treatment for me before I went and bought it.

I bought a cheap one second hand and sold it for similar. It was the hairmax lasercomb, the official one. Used it for close to 3 months before I started "proper meds." It was doing something for sure, hair growing thicker/faster. I didn't use it long enough. What sealed it for me is they claim on their site that it helps remove DHT from the scalp, LOL. Also started doing a bit more reading. Thought to myself why confine myself to a lifetime of this with little benefit. Since then been popping finasteride, at least I know I am doing all I can to halt it.

If you need growth I would give this a go before Minoxidil, at least that was my thinking at the time. Make sure you either buy it cheap or buy it directly from them so you can return it if you are not satisfied. They offer a money back guarantee for up to a certain period.

I guess I should find some time to post my 6th month on LLLT review.
