That pic says it all. His so-called "donor area" is thin as well as the top and vertex baldness.
I take the position that people with baldness usually see it spread into the wreath area in old age. Looks like sleeping on pillows didn't save his wreath hair from thinning a good bit, and greying badly. He, according to Stephen, must have lymphedema really bad up there to lose hair all over his head like that.
