Here's a link to all the data from Glaxo's dutasteride/finasteride trial for hairloss:

http://www.propeciabuyersclub.com/avodart_research.pdf

Here are the bottom line results...the following haircount differences (versus placebo) were obtained after 24 weeks:

finasteride, 5 mg/day ............. 102.5 hairs

dutasteride, 0.05 mg/day ......... 54.4 hairs
dutasteride, 0.1 mg/day ......... 101.9 hairs
dutasteride, 0.5 mg/day ......... 125.1 hairs
dutasteride, 2.5 mg/day ......... 139.5 hairs

As you can see, 2.5 mg/day of dutasteride did only 11.5% better than 0.5 mg/day (versus placebo). You have to decide for yourself if higher, unapproved doses are worth either the expense or the risk.

I know about this study but there is two reasons why you can't take 2,5 mg a day:

1) The costs would be outragous, it's 5 pills a day, it would be like 3.500$ a year.

2) Judging from the side effects I experienced at .5 mg a day, I can't imagine how my body would feel like taking t 5 times that dosage!
