Anyone knows where one can get a whole bucket of spironolactone cream without going broke? Lee's containers are so small they barely last me 2 weeks and it's very expensive when you go through 4 or 5 of them in 2 months.

I know DL's spironolactone containers are pretty small, but how in the hell are you going through one in just two weeks?

Yeah I apply it over the whole top. Since I stopped propecia I need some sort of antiandrogen and spironolactone is the only thing on the market right now that comes in a topical. So if anyone knows if Dr Lee or Genhair make larger containers of this stuff or any other manufacturer I'd be very interested.

Virtually all of them sell the same quantity. Genhair sells a 3-bottle version though for $90. That's the best I think you can do for now unfortunately. Unless, unless you find a way to make your own spironolactone 5% or get someone to do it for you, you could make a whole lot of it for a much cheaper cost. There's an old thread detailing how to make your own homemade spironolactone.

Wholesalehairproducts sells tubs for 20 bucks, but I heard it really stinks. Your best bet is to make your own if you intend to keep using that much.

Well at wholesale I only see a 2oz container for 25 bucks which is 5 bucks cheaper than Dr.Lee's. I'd be really interested in a 10oz containers or more. Does anyone here on the board make it's own spironolactone? I've browsed through some of the spironolactone topics and the best recommendation when making your own spironolactone cream was to get some ordinary cream (moisturizing or whatever) and then add crushed spironolactone tablets. I'm not sure spironolactone would properly dissolve in a cream.

Well it seems I will have to. I just seems strange to me that none of the companies are making bigger containers of this stuff. Since it's the only receptor blocking anti androgen on the market.

Bryan Shelton posted a recipe for making a good Dermovan cream. It's pretty easy; I've done it before.

Basically you crush up some spironolactone pills into a fine powder and mix 'em in Dermovan cream. The only downside is that the filler in the pills makes you look like you have baby powder on your head when it dries

Yeah,

BUT DOES IT STINK......................?

Ive wondered if one could add spearmint oil to the dermovan and spironolactone to neutralize the stink somewhat. Ive tired lipoxidil spironolactone with zinc oxide and it has a pleasant menthol smell to it, but they give you WAY WAY too little. If you cover the top and front.............................that 50 ml might last 3-4 weeks tops. But the stuff itself is nice.

When I read one of Doctor's post about the half life of carenoic acid being so long, and then checked the resource library and found carenoic acid is actually pretty effective, I came to the conclusion that topical spironolactone twice a day along with finas interally really would be one damned strong anti-androgen routine. Add nano shampoo or something..................and you'd be cooking with one internal, one topical, and one shampoo. Its would be a pretty easy regime that would be effective in my opinion.

The Dermovan version did not stink at ALL. Even less than Dr. Lee's if you ask me. In fact, the Spirotone tabs I used had a minty smell.
