Have you ever had the sensation that they where like stabbing into a spot on your head? These threads look fairly thick, not sure if they use a mono like thread, they sometimes fold and create a point.Just trim them off. Some fraying is normal with lace.
Well it's on right now so unfortunately I cant, do you know if there is a pic online that shows the differences? I am being told what i have been getting is swiss laceIf sounds like very coarse lace. Can you take a picture of the underside with the problem threads?
Forgot I have a new one, here it is. You see those cross threads making like squares?
Where did you get the one in the pic?As you can see, that is a much coarser fabric, quite aside from the cross-threads. I am not sure what those are for - something to do with creating the curvature maybe?
As I understand, factories heat-form the lace around a mold to give it curvature without needing to make such large darts. I bought a heat gun to try it with my next piece.
Sewing nylon thread can help it maintain the curvature since without prominent darts, the curvature isn't held by tension.
You can remove the parts of that thread that are bothering you. It just might make the shape deform just a bit over time.
