Knot-Sealer for Lace System - Should I Bother?

I'm back on lace - amazing ventilation, full-whiteglue-bond notwithstanding- & want to preserve my piece as long as possible.

Should I bother with knot sealer. I heard it only makes the base more receptive to adhesive. I want stronger knots, if it does that without some big tradeoff.
