I am using kirkland since 2 weeks alongside with nanongen as concelear...sometimes I succed to create a mess on my head...but that's not the main problem...I have noticed that sometimes I get a lot of white flakes in my hair...and recently my scalp skin has became to exfoliate.I have started to peel off a lot of skin from scalp...do you have these problem too?

The flakes are the liquid residue, rarely do I believe it's actually increased dandruff or exfoliation as you've put it.

Options are:

1. Switch to Rogaine Foam, more expensive but many claim it's far less messy and solves the flake problem.

2. After your morning application, wash the liquid minoxidil out before you go out in public (can make your routine difficult if you want to leave the liquid on for a decent length of time before work etc).

I've just orderded some Rogaine Foam myself and plan to use foam in the morning and a cheap liquid (like Kirkland) in the evening to keep costs down (I don't care about flakes overnight).

Here's a link to forum search results for 'flakes', you'll see it's a common query:
search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&keywords=%2Bflakes

Mods: How about a pinned/sticky thread in this forum about the flake issue since it comes up so often?

I've been having this problem. If I use more than 1.2 to 1.3 ML for an application it gets REALLY flakey. If I use 2ml it's like snow falling from my head if I haven't taken a shower and run my hand through my hair

I found using less helps, but I'm going to try to switch to Rogaine foam soon. Everyone says it eliminates the flakes altogether.

i'm going to try this for 3-4 months...if I will not see any result then I might going to try the hair piece...because minoxidil and nanogen really creates a mess in my head and is looking like sh*t...the greasy and the flakes and the hair fibers are making shitty hair...
btw I have seen that most of guys that were good responders had success in the very first 2-3 months...if I will not getting results in this period I will quit propecia and minoxidil...I am on propeci for almost 1 year and it did nothing...

If you're expecting the maximum results at 3-4 months, then I suggest you stop treating your hair all together and get the piece.

I saw results happening at 3-4 months and the full results at 6 to 8 months.

dunno man...maybe I will wait another 6 months but I need a minoxidil that is not greasy something like water to put and after half of hour to be completely dry...not greasy...rogaine foam can be ok but I will need to apply nanogen after any other application and it is not practical at all...do you know some others type of minoxidil that are not greasy?

Spectral's also greasy. Go for Rogaine Foam. Not greasy, dries fast and no flaking. Try ebay for a cheap seller.

Yeah Rogaine Foam is great for the morning rush, it dries so, so much quicker than Rogaine/Kirkland liquid.

Takes a while to get the hang of applying it, but definitely worth it + it's apparently more effective than the liquid.

Yeah I'm definitely going to have to switch to foam ASAP. The flakes/dandruff stuff is driving me crazy, it's gotten really annoying lately.

if I skip a day, I have virtually no "dandruff" by next evening.

Primo,

I thought I remembered you trying BOTH products and stating you felt liquid was superior. Am I thinking of a different poster?

Man, I think you may be thinking of mpbsux?

I've only just switched to using foam in the mornings with Kirkland liquid at night, but as far as I know the foam is more effective, according to this site anyway!

It absorbs and dries very quickly and I've found it much less greasy than Rogaine liquid. Perfect for the mornings.
