Hey guys,

I have been taking Proscar for a over a few months now, I had some crazy shedding. Slowed down a little.

I added in Kirklnad Minoxidil 5% for about 2 weeks, twice a day 1ml.....I am beggining to notice my hair even thinner. I could see from my hair line its even thinner, Before my hairline wasnt a problem.

P.S I apply the Minoxidil allover my temple, including my hairline area.

Is this normal guys? or should I be worried?

Complety normal, my friend.

Everyone gets anxiety when it comes to using new male pattern baldness treatments.

Rogaine is proven to work.

It won't make your hair worse, except initially... Most of the studies on minoxidil show that it generally causes "shedding" of a bunch of hairs the first 16 weeks of treatment.

Hold on.

I didn't see results until month 4... I'm at about month 7 on Rogaine and I'm starting to see some REAL results.

I personally wouldn't use 1mL on your temples and hairline only. Maybe someone else has some input on this.

dont discontinue, keep with it. If you only using it on the hair line, maybe use .5 - .7 ml. 1ml seems a bit o much as ch suggested

The thinner looking hair is probably from the finasteride. You have only been using minoxidil for two weeks?. I highly doubt it would thin your hair that quick. Anyways, this is completely normal to have the hair get worse before it gets better. Just hang in there, you are using the best tools to fight hairloss. :)

No not at all. You have to use the finasteride or at least a topical anti-androgen to stay in the game.

minoxidil is a long term treatment. If you start treatment and then decide to stop in let's say three months then all your gains would have been for nothing. Because you will lose this gain. Even after 5 years you decide to stop then all those gains from minoxidil will be lost.

So in effect, if you start minoxidil then you had better be in it for a long long long time. Or until you are no longer worried about hair loss.
