Ive been reading a lot of story's of people using rogaine foam 5% and experiencing terrible side affects such as:

Wrinkles
Thickening of the Skin
Dark Circles Under the Eyes
Poor Skin

Does this happen to everyone who uses Rogaine Foam??

After reading these stories I am hesitant to use the product

Just looking for people that have experienced a positive reaction to Rogain Foam

Is the liquid minoxidil better? :innocent:

The vast majority of the users do not get side effects from Rogaine foam.Only a small percentage of them do experience but they are totally reversible when Rogaine application is stopped.

Donni, I've been on minoxidil for 11 weeks now and the only problem I've experienced is slight breathlessness when I'm training hard... and I mean really hard, like interval training where I'm doing sprints, followed by medium paced jogs.

It's only something that ever bothers me if I'm doing extremely high-intensity exercise, I still cycle to work every day and go the gym 3 times a week and have no problems with this + I was smoking heavily when I began minoxidil, so this probably didn't help my cardiovascular health either.

As for the skin thing, this was very minor and totally unoticeable to anybody else + it went away after about 6weeks. Most importantly for me Minoxidil has NO sexual sides and has given me some brilliant regrowth already.

Some people on this forum like Timi and others detest Minoxildil and love Finasteride, others like myself are see Finasteride as evil due to our bad experiences, and much prefer Minoxdil as we know it won't f*ck with our hormones...

Ultimately you need to try out both drugs to find out which one your system responds well to... everyone is different.

You have to remember, this is a hairloss forum. The majority of the members who post here are those who do not respond well to treatment. Those that do usually disappear and never come back.

I would wager that more than 75% of people on hair loss forums will complain either of side effects or lack of response. This produces a placebo effect in potential users with a proclivity towards hypochondria.

Be an educated adult; try the Rogaine. If it screw up your face--which I doubt it will--then drop it and go to plan B.

And ignore Timi. He gets side effects from water and oxygen.

Can you give a figure to your 'small percentages' even if it's just your own opinion (not based on any studies etc)? Just curious to see what you reckon the figures are.

I too am scared to add Rogainel, even the foam.

I guess 85-90% of the people dont experience any side effects.Out of the remaining 10-15 % of the users, most have only mild side effects like dizziness, itching, unwanted hair growth and fast heartbeat. The body will automatically adjust to these with continued treatment.Maybe 2-5% of the users have nastier side effects like swollen hand, feet, face, excessive unwanted hair growth, skin damage, etc.

I read this somewhere before I started using MIN but I dont have the source with me right now.

I am also scared to use minoxidil, I have used Kirklands before but I think I may have gotten wrinkles. If a side effect is making you appear a lot older than you are, then I'd rather leave minoxidil and find an alternative growth stimulator.

Totally. I would use it on my hairline I think in a low-ish concentration, but I certainly don't want to risk damaging my skin unless it's an absolute last resort. I like my skin :)
