Keep this short or grow it out a bit more?

Wondering what you guys think about the styling for my hair. I had it fairly length before i buzzed some weeks ago. now the top is long enough for me to kinda stick up. Problem being one temple is noticeably more receded than the other. So it makes my forehead look pretty weird although i had a high/big forehead to begin with anyway.
Do i keep this short or try a style with length?
The problem i had when my hair was lengthy is that hair product was useless... maybe because I'm thinning but styling was a ****ty, and even if i got it looking okay, it would eventually go all weird and kinda clumpy which is honestly the reason i grabbed the clippers and buzzed to #4 in the first place. even this short the hairs at the front don't stay styled very long.

If you think of a style better suited I'd appreciate photos to save for future reference.

Long hair won't looks good on you. Keep it very short :) Less ppl will notice that your hairline is receding. Best would be to buzz it.

I'd say it looks fine, definite recession. Like an advanced NW2.
No offence but I'm going to be pissed when my hair reaches your stage.

I'd say grow it out if you really are willing to put in the effort to style it, could definitely do some magic...

How old are you dude? lol also don't do that dumb face.

You're nowhere near NW3, dude!
For who's telling you that, please send him to study the charts.
In true NW3, temple recession reaches the "Ear" level, i mean, when you draw a vertical line from the corner of the hairline, it passes tthrough the ear.
At you, you have a good amount of inches to reach that level, as it seems.
There are a lot of ignorant people out there who don't know anything about Norwood charts.
This Norwood system does not apply uniformly to all people. There are people with NATIVE bigger heads/bigger foreheads/ higher hairlines.

Anyway, in my opinion, this is true NW3:

@Sayifdoit: Go and make yourself some pictures from the same angle if you want to compare.

this is the front of my hairline. For the guy saying he sees no receded hairline at all lol it's obvious.

I'm trying to show the thinning strip through my forelock but it's not it's not really showing up as well... It's usually easier to see when the hair is dry.

The reason I believe I'm almost norwood 3 is because I was told the thinning bit in my forelock was an indicator that I'm approaching norwood 3. A lot of people have told me that.

Well, almost everybody's hair look thinner when wet because when it's wet, obviously many hairs are grouped together.
Yes, you have some recession but you're not NW3. I wish you luck to maintain.

Similar to my hairline, nice to see people are saying its not a nw3 as I thought it would be!

I usually find its better to go really short on the sides and medium on top so you can use hair to cover the temples

are you going on meds??

I was on finasteride for 4 months but I had side effects. I got bloodwork which showed my hormones to be normal but my liver enzyme count was high. Doctor thinks either my liver reacts badly to finasteride or my liver was problematic prior to taking the drug and that's why i got sides. Nothing is confirmed yet, i have to get another set of blood work and then discuss it with him. Hopefully i have another problem that can be resolved so i can keep taking finasteride but if not then I'm screwed I guess.

i mean, on this website http://www.drugs.com/cdi/finasteride.html It says Before using finasteride: if you have a history of increased serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, abnormal liver function tests, or liver problems.

So perhaps i had a liver problem prior to finasteride and that's why i reacted negatively initially.
