Just Turned 18, I Don’t Know If I Am Going Bald.

Went to dermatologist a few months ago, he said I showed signs of thinning. Don’t know if it’s diet because I’m vegetarian, all thyroid levels were good. My testosterone was low normal, no one in family has male pattern baldness. Chronic telogen effluvium? Idk at this point. Any help is appreciated and thanks.

You have a good hairline, but your crown looks like it's going. This is a weird case could be something other than male pattern baldness or it could be. You said no family history? I'd see a dermatologist if I were you and get on treatments if they suggest male pattern baldness.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah no one in my family has male pattern baldness, don’t know why it’s happening to me. I have dieted semi aggressively and lost 10-12 pounds in the last few months, don’t know if it is that. I’ve been taking vitamin supps as well to see if it’s diet. Do you know what it means if my shorter hairs are falling out?

No. It's not some voodoo diet, unless you've recently been admitted to a concentration camp. Crown thinning and a bit of recession on the hairline, classic male pattern baldness.

Shorter, thinner hairs falling out? the hairs are going through the miniaturization process, and will eventually turn into vellus hairs, then gone all together. Consider finasteride or consider going bald.

Sorry for not clarifying. Your crown is going, hairline might be a NW1 if that. Like above poster said see a derm and consider finasteride.
