So I went to my pharmacy today and they told me they won't be receiving more generic propecia from now on. They offered me 5mg generic finasteride (8 €), the alternative was propecia 1mg 56 €. The coice was obvious, since I'm a student without incomes.

I also bought a cutter, since i will be needing it. I will cut the pills in fourths.

But my question here is, should I be expecting some increase of shedding, sides, etc? I've been on generic finasteride for 4 months now with no improvement (no sides either).

Thanks for your help!

PS: I read that cuting the pill would be bad because of the air contact and its interaction with stomach acid, so I decided to purchase some gelatin caps and put inside them the fourths, would it be okay?

You should be expecting to save money. :p

With Finasteride, the 5 milligram tablets are much less expensive than the 'cosmetic' 1 milligram tablets. Cut one tablet at a time into fourths while taking it for the next four days. Once finished with that tablet, you can proceed to the next one, so on and so forth. Prioritizing your hair and wallet is the most important when it comes to using perfectly effective generic brands.

Is it bad to cut them all up at once? I just started, I cut my 30 pills into 120 pills right off the bat and put them back into bottle

No, you just run the risk of them crumbling up in the bottle. Keep them away from light and moisture and they should be fine.

Hi, my father, 83 years old, bald for about 45 years is under Chibro-Proscar since begining of the year.
He has hairs that push where there was nothing!
Is that good news for me or means nothing?

Only half your genes come from your father, so statistically speaking, this is 50% good news :)

The other 50%, we don't know.
