...and laughed my *** off when I saw the size of the tub! The pictures make it look like it's the size of your palm, but in all honesty it's like one of those jam/jelly pots you get in hotels!
Anyway, to those of you who have been posting questions about smell, application, etc, I'll break down my first experience:
Smells funky! And I mean that in a good way. It reminds me of those muscle rubs you can get. Nothing offensive at all. When I think of offensive I conjure up smells of nasty breath, dog's doings and bad feet. But this stuff just has a nice, dare I say 'healing', medicated smell. I can live with that!
I've temple and overall thinning, but still have full coverage (baseline pics in my profile) and I've got my hair (today at least) at around a grade one buzz cut. Application was a piece of cake. Didn't need much at all to cover the entire 'typical' balding area. Made sure that I rubbed it in nice and good. And bingo, within about five minutes the scalp was dry and you couldn't even see any residue under a harsh light. Seriously easy to do. If this is the whole of my topical routine then application is a walk in the park.
Well, that just about sums up day one of my new regime. For those of you who are interested the only other things I've thrown in the mix is Nizoral twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday - can't be doing with that 'every three days' thing as I drank too much as a youngster and can't normally remember which side of the bed to get out of let alone count days!), vitamins (basically have been eating utter sh*t for the past nine months which might explain why things have gotten worse in the past nine months - hhhmmmm, coincidence?!?), quitting smoking, keeping fit and trying to stay positive.
I'm going to post results at three month marks just to keep a good measure. At present I'm only going to apply once a day, just to try and keep the costs down - I also suffer from acne just in the area I'm thinning, so I think (and I know this goes against conventional wisdom and what a lot of people think) that excessive sebum in this area is a further cause of my thinning. So a combination of Nizoral and once daily of S5 should be enough to arrest the thinning and (fingers crossed!) thicken up those follicles.
Nobody bother telling me to try finasteride either - the little fellow downstairs really didn't like it! Three weeks off the stuff and he's very picky when it comes to working. Girlfriend is super understanding, and let's face it, you don't have to use the chap to give a girl a good time, if you know what I mean!?! :hump:
Right, peace out, fellas - keep fighting the fight and stay strong; and remember (to paraphrase a quote I read) 'It's not what they take from you, but what you do with what's left that counts'.
