okay so i was looking through some pictures of my self when i was younger, like 6th - 7th grade....I discoverd that it looked like i had a huge chunk of hair missing at my receeding hair line (mostly significant on the right side), kind of like i do now only its worse now.... well this is a pretty serious problem becuase male pattern baldness is not suppose to start that early, becuase i was like 13-14 years old. Is there any other kind of hair loss problem that can start that early? or maybe i just got really unlucky and started balding when i was young. I am 17 now and am going to start finasteride/minoxidil/nizoral within the next few weeks. However now i am a little worried becuase that stuff is only effective for people that have male pattern baldness? Can anyone help????

male pattern baldness can start at the onset of puberty, about the time your hormones are starting to kick into high gear. See a dermatologist to be certain, but I've always had the same situation as you more or less. Denial will only make you wait longer for treatments, and I don't recommend that...

yeah dude, trust me i am not in the denial stage at all, and i just wanted to add that i think you might be right becuase I matured WAAAAAAY before any of the other kids did in my grade, i went through puberty at the age of like 12 and started getting acne and everything but it seems like right when i did, my hair started commimg off extreamly quick
