Hey everyone, so I decided after my sister got diagnosed with Female-pattern hair loss and after seeing my temple hair thin slightly I thought I would go see a "specialist" to get a "proffessional" opinion on my hair. Went to the Belgravia Centre and got taken to some pseudo-doctor who looked at my hair took photos and showed that my temples were a bit thinner (something I'd already known) and that that meant that I 100% have Male-pattern baldness and that without their treatment Im doomed for baldness, I was quickly whisked off to the sales rep who ripped my wallet to shreds without me ever having the chance to think twice.

Has anyone here been to the Belgravia Centre and experienced anything similar because right now I just feel like I've been scammed.

They are a massive con.

You'll be seen by a 'trichologist' and the sales team will try sell you minoxidil, propecia and a laser comb for over a grand.

You could all the same things they can do online but for a fifth of the price.

See if you can get a refund

it was absolutely ridiculous. I've never felt so disappointed in myself for falling for their sh*t. Is this kind of treatment what you should expect from hair loss or are there any good trichologists out there (in London if you by any chance happen to know).

Why do you need a "trichologist"? Minoxidil is easily bought over the counter unless you want a 15% cream which you can buy from Belgravia or a compounding pharmacy. Finasteride anyone can prescribe. If you're a woman, you might want to look into cyproterone or spironolactone as well.

A dermatologist can do a scalp biopsy if needed. Any doctor can order basic bloodwork.

They may very well be trying to take you for your money but they know what they're talking about. At least much better than american derms do. You might feel taken advantage of because you only got 5 min of their time but this is the way it goes, especially if you are in early stages. If your'e thinning in only the temples you have male pattern baldness. You can pay money for blood work but it will likely be time and money better spent on treatment. From here on out I wouldn't purchase any treatments from docs/derms when you can come to this forum and buy them cheaper online.
