Skip to the bold part below if you dont wanna here me blabber a bit about my introduction and where it all started and move on to my questions and concerns, hehe.

First of all, hello! Since i havent introduced myself, this part actually belongs in the introduction part of this site. But the other part does not, so i will put them together.

I am 20 years old, i remember when i had joined the army, i started shedding a sh*t load of hair, really... a sh*t load! All the training, getting up early, being new to all this. More training, sport, no break till late night. (you are obligated to serve in my country for 6 months)

Anyways, i would take a shower and i would notice my hand full of hair, everytime i would go through my hair i would see like 20 strands of hair all over. This is where it all started.

As time passed by, i would notice my crown thinning.

Till one day i decided to start rogaine, at first it made me panic, its like your hair was shedding on top of shedding. So your hair's hair falling out, hahaha.

WAIT! Thats not funny, back to being depressed.

Eitherway, it more or less grew back, i mean , for the fact that i have only been using it for 5 months i would say it is hardly noticeable, or not at all noticable. It only gets more noticeable when my hair gets longer. But i like my hair somewhere in between anyway. Not too short, not too long.

My questions and concerns

Okay, so obviously my crown was thinning, used rogaine.

1.)Now, obviously if your crown is thinning, doesnt that mean it must be thinning on other parts too? Since you are losing your hair anyway?

2.)As for rogaine, i know that the earlier you start using it, the better it works, right? So should i start applying it in places other then my crown area? Should I start using it on the front part of my scalp?

3.)!!!!!!!Here a question i cant seem to get the answer for anywhere. HOW can you TELL if you are LOSING too much hair? Or how can i make a self test to determine?!!!!

Anyways, since i already lost a lot of hair at the crown, ive taken pictures of the front side of my face, in order for you guys to be the judge of my frontal hair. One from on top, too.

Thanks for the help guys.

Think about this mate, your hairloss may have started at the same time as you joining the army but did everyone else in your platoon (who were living under the exact same circumstances as you) also start balding?

Best thing for you to do is get on finasteride.

I do not quite understand the point you are trying to make. As for the others balding, never really discussed it. At least i think its safe to say i didnt notice much of a difference, the only exception being those who already had a receeding hair line.

As for finasteride.. im not really sure if i ever want to start it, do not like the side effects that may come with that.
