my dad had a hair transplant some years ago, maybe 5+ years ago. Im assuming it was still new procedure back then. Anyways, he had to have 2 transplants since the first time his body rejected some of his grafts the first time. Is this common or is this some sort of mistake or was it simply due to it being a new procedure back then?

I don't believe I've ever heard of someone's body rejecting the grafts. I have heard of one guy that had a transplant, and those grafts fell out a couple of years later. I guess maybe they took the grafts from an area that was genetically "programmed" to fall out. I don't know. Who was your dad's surgeon? What did he say?

Sounds like faulty surgical technique or bad hygiene post surgery.
