jumping the gun on finasteride

doing a lot of searching online and yeah i guess finasteride is pretty much a must....one thing im wondering though: i see finasteride is recommended for male pattern balding, and i have diffuse thinning, so will it still work for me? is diffuse the same as male pattern baldness?

right now using big 2 (rogiane+minoxidil) some biotin and stressing less+scalp massage+saclp exercises. last time i went to Doctor they denied me a prescription so will go to a different Doctor/nurse practitioner today to see if i can pick it up today, other wise ill order it online. not bad online u can get 4 months supply for 15 bucks+ 25$ shipping = 40 bucks for 3 months.



also question on sides: i read on these forums bout guys bleeding from the nipples and aching balls/dick...so if i get those sides do they go away as my body gets used to propecia? planning to take 1mg/day.

not too worried bout sexual sides cus i dont have a gf and prolly never will, i have an angel girlfriend and we have sex basically by me just jerking off so i dont think it will be a big deal, i believe we will be together after i die and ill have a perfect body then.

ALSO - since my last Doctor denied my prescription, can i just tell the new Doctor "hey i been taking 1mg finasteride but i recently moved here and need a new prescription, can you write me one?"

also - how long does finasteride take to start working? i was hoping to see results in a week or 2 but reading some people took 6 MONTHS to see results? damn so that means i wont have good hair this summer and will have to wait til 2016 lol

No, unless you're a crazy responder you'll just maintain and have some regrowth. The big three isn't a cure, it's a lifelong treatment and it won't bring back all your hair, not even close.
Take finasteride and don't worry about it, your nipples won't freaking bleed !

Diffuse thinning is a type of male pattern baldness (unless its on the side and back)
Actually finasteride tends to work very well for diffuse pattern hair loss

get from inhouse if your doctor wont prescribe or find another Doctor

Everybody responds different to finasteride, but for the majority it gets worse before it gets better. When will you see results who knows could be early or later or none at all. Good job on the doctor, thats what I was going to do first find a Doctor with a HEAD OF HAIR so he could relate and not just tell me to accept it.

Honestly if you are trying to save money then id say break those 5mg pills into 1/4th and take one EVERY THIRD DAY. Its the same efficiency and you can have 30 5mg finasteride going for about like (One 5mg pill cut into 1/4th will last you for 12 days) 360 DAYS!!!!!

But id say you should just crush about and put about three 5mg finasteride pills into your 60ml minoxidil liquid and use it that way.
Cost effective and the meds work when should AT THE FOLLICLES.
Sure their would be systemic absorption but it would be the same with taking the pills orally.
Plus topical administration is far better at yeilding results than anything.

Just came back from the doctor, he wrote be a prescription however walmart pharmacy is ****ty like alway so they said i gotta wait 20 more mins to pick it up, or in reality, 2 hours then 1 more hour in line.

Doctor was pretty cool however he said finasteride can cause erectile dysfunction thats this **** life for ya, take finasteride and maybe grow hair back, and if by off chance you get a girlfriend, you get to explain to her that you can't please her because you take medicine to keep your hair on your head.

gonna get my hair cut today cus it LOOKS LIKE **** - though it always has with long hair (i always get crew cuts, look cool as hell with crew cuts)

i will post a pic of when i started treatment, a pic before hair cut, a pic after haircut and hopefully a good progress pic in the future with the big 3 combined.

just got my beautiful finasteride, also got a pill cutter, and Iron supplement cus i hear thats important...Lol im starting iron and finasteride at the same time, but what if its iron that helps me and finasteride that gets all the credit??

question: someone mentioned topical finasteride - WHAT IF i took 30mg finasteride, crushed it and put it in 1 months bottle of minoxidil....that way i can apply the finasteride/minoxidil = Finox twice a day with my 1ml dropper...would that work good? i rather have hair grow just on my head, dont care about the other stuff.

it was hilarious when i went to pick up the finasteride. the assistant gave it to the pharmacist so he could tell me about it - the pharmacist looks at the bottle, then looks at me then looks at the bottle then looks up at my hair lol and says "is this for your?? ah so young " LOL

For me the sides started showing at about day 3 (1.25mg finasteride). My erections weren't as strong as they used to be and my semen was watery. I also experienced shedding and my hair looked worse than before. I'm almost 2 months into taking finasteride and the sexual sides are almost completely gone, but I'm still shedding. However, even though I'm still shedding I feel my hair is fuller, the crown isn't as visible as it was under light and some of the vellus hair on the temples are getting longer and a bit darker. However everyone reacs differently to drugs, so use your best judgement when taking finasteride.

As for side effects from finasteride:-
They can happen after popping the first pill or after 1 year.
No way to absolutely be sure, unless you take it yourself.

As for topical finasteride:-
Their have been some tests and studies that said topical finasteride with minoxidil is better than oral finasteride+minoxidil.
Ill try to find some of those if you want.
The reason i believe it works good, topically is coz its inhibiting 5AR at where its needed, the hair follicles. The systemic absorption is a b**ch but hey, its the same with oral but you would get better and faster results too.

As for making topical finasteride:-
Lol no dude not the entire strip.
Finasteride is a flat response drug so it doesn't matter you take 100mg or 0.1 mg, you will inhibit the same amount of DHT in the body.

No need to dump the whole strip. Just something like about 30 mg or 60 mg to crushed to minoxidil is enough.

np nad, i did some searchign myself and saw some of those - yeah for now ill stick to oral since i just started.

i need to cut my hair, wanting to today cus it looks like **** when its long (always has - i usually get military crew cuts) but now that im thinning im scared the barber lady will cut it and leave giant bald spots last time she was pushing me to buy nioxin (a shampoo/conditioner set for 60 bucks with no finasteride, min, or keto in it) and i said no, so hoping she wont be all like "ha i told you!!" - hoping 6 month -> 1 year from now i can go in there like a boss and make them all silent.

actually dude an update - this morning i showered/conditioned and skipped minoxidil, and my hair looks excellent. i feel like minoxidil makes my hair dryer...is it ok to do minoxidil just once a day at night? should i do 1ml or 2ml at night once a day?

Topical minoxidil on skin has a half life of 22 hours.
You can use it once a day.
But you should be devoted to applying it properly.
