Judging from my pictures am I going bald?

I am an 18 year old male and I just got out of high school . Two years ago I cut my hair down to a #3 and another student made a comment asking if I had cancer due to the way my hair looked. My hair was always really thin! But recently the top of my head behind my hairline and just above my crown has become much thinner than the rest and the right side of my head along with it. I went to my doctor two months ago and he examined my scalp and told me not to worry that it was diffuse alopecia or stress related and I wasn't going bald. He told me to stop cutting my hair short (because that's when it's noticeable) and prescribed minoxidil for 3-4 months. It has been 2 months and I've seen no improvement! It hasn't gotten worse either but it's still very aggravating. Judging. From my pictures is there anyone with similar pattern? Is my doctor just telling me that so I won't worry?

if you thinning on the side of your head then its not male pattern baldness, no one go's bald on the side thats why most people are left with a horse shoe

Yeah that's what my doctor had told me what it was!! ^ my eyebrows have been thinning also! One eyebrow has very extremely thin hair while the other is fine ! I don't know my hair is just really weird I guess haha

sorry to hear that. My suggestion is to have your barber buzz it down to a #1 blade and fade the sides like you normally do. I know people who have severely thinned out and they look surprisingly good with that cut.

Thank you for the suggestion!! I have taken better pictures that show the full extent of my hairloss! Should I put them up here? Or on another thread? I'm new to this site and I just want an accurate diagnosis.

Go see a hair transplant Surgeon if you want a accurate diagnosis.

Only ones who are not good candidates are those who suffer from DUPA (Diffused Unpatterned Alopecia) because their donor area thins as well.
