just watching it on bbc2 at. Must say the guitar player has an amazing head of hair. lucky guy. James morrison looks a little thinner on top tho? Why do rock stars have such great hair? I play guitar but it's not helped my hair loss lol.

I'm a singer/ guitarist myself and never had great hair but if you think about it, there is an equally large amount of bald(ing) rock musicians- Billy Corgan, Moby, Albert Hammond Jr etc. Loads of rock musicians defined their image on their hair initially so probably just pop on a hair piece if it isn't what it used to be. An image can be created from anything so long as the music's great. Look at Radiohead, they have a few bald members and they're not all great looking guys, but as long as they keep making insanely good music, it's never going to matter.

Also, look at Jeff Buckley. He never even attempted to hide his hairline but I bet there are loads of even trained norwood spotters who just never noticed because his fans are literally in awe of his music. Google it. Still looked great though.

Then theres singers I'd bet big money that Alice Cooper and Steven Tyler have been wearing for decades.

I know, it makes me sick. I have always tried to live healthily and then you see these people abuse their bodies and they still have great hair. Clapton was an alcoholic and still has decent hair. Im quitting the finasteride and getting myself some of what they're taken.

Noel Gallagher though... :shock: I'd never have pegged him as wearing a wig, I always just assumed that him and Liam were just blessed with great hair genetics.

Yes, it does, but his hair looks the same since Oasis hit the spotlights almost 20 years ago. And his brother Liam has exactly the same hair, good hair genes simply run in the family.

I dont think Liam wears a wig and that is an old pic of him but he still has good hair, but Noels hair looks ridiculous to me I dont think he's bald by any means but that huge mop just looks fake to me.

I think it was on Alan Carr's show that Liam Gallagher talked about 'the barnet' being the most important thing in his band and that he'd keep on doing what he does until he lost it. It's a shame Beady Eye are sh*t and his hair doesn't change that fact.

Also, mancs and scousers never have half arsed hair. It's either ridiculously big or just non existent. North west britpop musicians (oasis, beatles) seem to incorporate the big do into their image.

That looks really like a wig in that pic. Weird thing about Marr is I've read loads of interviews where he's always going on about the importance of good hair for musicians..you'd think he'd be a bit more sympathetic given he wears a rug!

I'm pretty sure Damon Albarn has had a hair transplant - there was a period when Blur split up that he formed Gorillaz and didnt appear in public (it was just cartoons on stage) - I bet that was when he got it his barnet fixed up. Chris Martin from Coldplay has fessed up a few times he's gotten treatment for male pattern baldness. So I dont think rockstars have any better hair than any of us.

One of my favorite bands is Jack White and the Raconteurs (from the white stripes). He has very different hair and is a clear Norwood 2 if you ever get a shot of his temples, but he hasn't receded in 15 years or so, and he's 36ish now. All the members of that band have great hair.

I love them and always wondered about them all having full heads of hair. I used to think it was a nashville thing but that just seems ridiculous now. Look at Caleb Followill, his is getting fairly noticeable these days.

I saw Jack White on this special with The Edge and Jimmy Page.

Page is the oldest and looks like he has alot of hair.

White and the Edge are both wearing hats, tho White is oozing hair on the sides.

Just noticed this thread... and regarding Noel Gallagher; I think that that's definitely his natural hair. Both him and Liam just have really good hair, always have.
