What do you guys think? Cuz my opinion is that in my diffuse thinning...I continue to have high density...but hair thats thinning a lot.

Looks good to me. Density appears much the same all over. You don't have super dense hair but then not everyone does so not sure you even have any real loss. Just grow it a little bit more maybe 1/4- 1/2 and I think it would look great.

Looks good bro. Mine looked a litlte higher density but not much differnce. Keep it longer on top than on sides like you did and that way for the thinning on top, because that way the scalp on top will match the amount of scalp showing on the sides due to the shorter cut.

Plus the advantage of being a diffuser with a buzz is that you still have a great hairline like I do, and thats what people look at first. They dont look at the top of your head so if your hairline is still relatively low(compared to Norwood 2's and 3's etc) and intact as it is, they won't assume that you're balding by any means.

Your hair is thin, but the top of your head also lacks density.

aren't you saying the same thing twice? thinness= low density

no thats not the same thing

actually it really is. when someone has thick hair, they have high density because their hair count in the area you're discussing is high. like i have higher density on the sides and back of my head than on top, which is another way of saying that my sides and back are thicker than my top.

I don't know what anything means. I used to think diffuse thinning meant that he didn't have as much hair on top, but it was spread out all over.

Now by reading The Moose's post (give The Moose his name back why don't ya) I thought he was saying diffuse thinning is his hair was less course on top than it was on the sides.

Anyhow, regardless of what anything means, he needs more hair on his head, and he needs thicker hair. Time for ketoconazole shampoo for The Moose.

And for the guy whose post I'm following (gxz700 or whatever your name is, sorry but I forgot) he's obviously balding. He has the classic chrome dome shining thorugh. That being said Moose, it doesn't look that bad. I'd throw the kitchen sink at your head though. In my humble opinion, to me it looks like you you should stand a good chance of being able to get your hair back. What are you using anyway?

First of all thx for the compliment guys...so you guys are telling me you see 0 recession nor do you see my thinness difference?i guess its more visible when itsnot buzzed...and yea thats right...thin hair is low density...and my hair isnt low density...i think the density is like ok...but the texture of the the hair...is FINE...its always been like that as a kid...but I just think the male pattern baldness is making the hairs finer and finer...hitting them randomly...thats my hairline is still alright...I used nizoral...but havent beeen bothered 2 get a replacment bottle but I will..ive used finasteride for over a year...jus switched to proscar...I was very on and off with minoxidil 2%...but stuck to it after the foam came out...ive been using it for about 6 weeks.I apply it to my hairline but mostly over my crown...also I should note...espcially @ my temples i have TONS of blonde hairds that are only visible in certain angles and lighting conditions.

me too. i have tons of blonde hairs on my hairline and temples and they're from dutasteride and have been that way for 3-4 months. i donte think theyll turn terminal until i add minoxidil and rub it on them.

Jayman it seems we got very similar hairloss I guess(after taking look at ur buzzcuts)..I got a few q's for u in PM...maybe if we find enuf commonalities, perhaps we can hope to achieve some kinna solution or hit some genetic basis for this?

mac, im gonna answer the questions publically so everyone can benefit:

did u find that ur hair always was and is pretty soft in texture? YES
do u shed @ all...in the shower? only a couple hairs if any
do ur hairs pluck out easily? no
how is ur family history with regards to male pattern baldness? dad is nw5 at 50, so was his dad. mom's brother and her father both have great heads of hair.
hows ur facial and body hair growth? very little facial hair and body hair for being 22.
do u got gyno? no

as for your hope of finding a solution or some kinda genetic basis, give it up. diffuse patterned alopecia works the same as male pattern baldness, it just takes a different route to get there. the same stuff treats one that treats the other. without meds, you would end up NW5-NW6, just taking a different route to get there than a receder. instead of your hairline receding and your crown starting to and them meeting in the middle, you would just gradually see your hair getting thinner all over on top and the crown, then the front would start to thin as well, as it all disappears.
