Ive been losing hair since 12 and idk if this is normal or not. Ive haven't seen a pattern in my hair loss. Idk if this info helps but when i was younger i had a rare case of acanthosis nigricans because i had it but the doctors said i was too skinny to have it currently i still have it, i am a bit over weight now though, also my family deals with high thyroid problems alot .I recently found out mine are high too, also i had mild seborrehic dermitisis like two years ago and too this day my head is constantly itchy and i have and i have a tendency to always want to scratch i, idk if all these could have affected my hair. Idk what to do , the only bald people in my family is my 80 yr old grandpa but even he still has some hair and my grandmas brother whos like 60, idk why i started to lose hair soo early at 12 , I always find that some of my hair is thick while some are very thin. Idk what to do , i went to a doctor once and they just noticed i had lots of pimples in my head, they only gave me seborrehic dermitisis medicine thats it.

How old are you? Thyroid issues are known to cause hair loss so I’d definitely get that fixed. Losing your hair at 12 is abnormal and it sounds to me like it’s most likely linked to your thyroid.

The good news is if it is related to your thyroid, then you have a great chance of not only stopping your loss but regrowing your hair once you treat your thyroid!

I'd agree. I've heard hair loss starting at 14-16 , but never 12. Thyroid could definitely be at play.
