It's weird isn't it how most people aren't on these sites!

Because like, I guess I subconsciously assume that like eeeeeveryone approaches hair loss like this, when of course most people just live with it, whether that means being content or sad about it. Personally it just feels like watching a part of me I love die, and when I have such nice hair it feels so pointlessly destructive it confuses me ._. I know it's just a gene though..

So, how did you guys discover HairLossTalk.com / why do you choose to come here? :)

I think a lot of it has to do with laziness and possibly shame. Most people just aren't interested in acquiring knowledge for themselves, they just go with w/e seems like the easiest solution. This either means buying into those crap commercials for hair loss you see on TV or just going to your doctor and trusting that his MD means he knows everything about medicine.

Yeah quite possibly :) what's also weird is just how many people still believe it's some incurable/untreatable medical mystery rofl. I have to explain to them like, that it's 2010 now and we understand a lot of stuff! :)

In many ways its still a mystery as there is no solid cure yet.Just a few options to delay the inevitable.

Yes. :stupid:
The truth is most guys dont even care because they are secure and confident enough to handle it.
For me whats more weird is people who have a full head of hippy hair but come on here and rack up 100's of posts in the space of a few months.

saf! Come on man you must realize it's possible to become a sudden diffuse thinner, which is what happened to me. It doesn't matter how thick or long my hair is, if it's thinning diffusely and inflamed then my situation is no different to anyone else's. Is it?

I would say 90% of men do not know about finasteride and minoxidil. It's not heavily advertised.

The crazy thing is, most people don't know.. well, about either of the two main areas we cover on here - growth stimulants and/or antiandrogens (and their place in preventing male pattern baldness). Most people think male pattern baldness is still a biiiiig mystery! lol :)

Strange, how people think that guys should just accept it! Always tends to be the people with no hair problems who say that rofl :)

Most people don't do anything because they bald at a slower rate or more advanced age, at which point they just give up.

Most of us, however, care whether we're at an advanced state or just starting to thin.

Seriously, If you have used and tested all the products and cocotions that you comented, it is not strange this "sudden diffuse thiner" :innocent:

Gotta be honest, before I found this site I had no idea about all this complex regimen stuff and never bothered reading up on the deep science behind hairloss.

Tried Finasteride under the Boots "hair retention" programme but quit after sides. Then in my desperate, ignorant state I got sold by the TV commercials and took up Alpecin shampoo and liquid for a period of 6 months <doh> Only quit that stuff once I read up on this site.
