It's technically only approved to treat prostate enlargement however it's commonly prescribed off-label for male pattern baldness. It is quite similar in its actions to finasteride and carries similar side effects. There are a decent number of people on this board who have tried it or are on it and most of the comments I have read about it have been positive. The companies trials for treating male pattern baldness with the chemical were also decently successful, try talking to your doctor about trying it (brand name: Avodart).
