I’m 14 years old and I already have hair loss, how bad is it?

Hey man, unfortunately judging by your hairline there is a good chance that you will lose more hair as you move into your 20s. Usually mature hairlines settle in around 19-22 years old. Its hard to say right now if you are balding or not because the top is still pretty thick but it doesnt look good for the future. Howecer, my friend had a similiar hairline to yours at 15 and now at 22 he has the exact same hair so these things are unpredictable.

The questions to ask are, has your hair changed in the past years? Has your hair and hairline always looked like this since you were a kid? Do you have family members that went bald at a young age(on either side of the family)? Are you noticing hair actually falling( in showers etc)?

My hair was always like this, as for my hairline it did get a bit worse this year but it’s not so different than mine as a kid. No one in my family suffered hair loss except for my dad, that began to lose his hair in the same age as mine. Only 2 hairs fall when I’m in the shower.

Some people have those temples naturally without it meaning there is male pattern baldness involved. Given your age, it's highly unlikely its male pattern baldness, but it's not impossible because there are a few men that experience hair loss at age 15-17.

But if that is your natural hairline and has always been that way, you got nothing to worry about. You may very well have the exact same hairline when you are 20-25.

NW2.5. Do you have older pictures just to see if you've always had that hairline?

If not, then I feel really sorry for you. You are way too young to use finasteride. Min's risky.

This is something you need judge for yourself. If your hair was always like this than your fine right now. Regardless at 14 id question if its even possible to be going bald yet, and you cant do much about it even if you are.
At 14 I would put it out of my mind, and enjoy your youth. At 21 or 22 maybe check if its worse and see a doctor. By the time your 22 there will be safer better things to use so time is on your side. Dont worry about it.

14 is a very unlikely age, but not unheard of.Time is not on his side. In terms of meds, not a whole lot I'm afraid. finasteride shouldn't even be considered until 18. Even then, that is still risky.
