Is this pill cutter good enough?

I bought this today from a local pharmacy, it was the cheapest and the girl suggested i buy it owing to its simplicity.

My query is, is this good enough to cut Proscar in 5ths? I'm currently about to start 1mg doses of Propecia, but to save money i plan to change to Proscar down the track.

I have a nearly identical one (mine is blue) an it served me very well. I was using quarter cuts and not fifths, so this cutter was ideal.

It can be a little tricky lining up the two halves for the second cut, but if you do each half seperately it's easy.

^^Thanks you two Mine's blue too, but they didn't have one with a clear top, which would be more useful.

Btw, so you just smack it down i'm guessing? Also, do the finasteride pills crumble?

Just close the lid with the pill in the guide and it will pop into two pieces, very little force is required. Also, the pills to crumble slightly, but it's usually just a little dust. Just make sure you keep the cut pieces in a dry environment as once cut the inside of the pill is exposed and I suspect that they will be slightly more prone to degradation.
