Is This Normal For A 25yr Old Male?

Hello, I am a 25yr old male. I got a comment from a hairstylist about my hairline that maybe just a mature hair line or receding a bit. My hair is very thick otherwise. Is this just a mature hairline?

Edit; My mothers side has no balding even at old age. My dad and grandfather are bald, my uncle on dads side is not. I have also constantly pushed up my hair trying to keep it upright the past 2 years I have had my hair a little longer. There is also zero hairs on my bed/pillow and next to none on a hairbrush.

“Normal” is a relative term. Your hairline has receded and your temple points have almost disappeared . So you are balding.

I personally think it makes you look like you are in your mid 30s.

Then again a bunch of people who are Norwood 6+ are going to comment about how they would want your hairline.

From the top of my widows peak to my highest forhead crease it is a little on .75" inch

It’s actually Not from the top of your windows peak it’s from the highest forehead wrinkle. The whole front of your hairline has receded. In addition your temple points have gone a sign of male pattern baldness.

It wasn't denial I just read something. I asked because I don't really have any clue about all this. What can I do? I'm 25 this is the one thing I fear the most. There is nothing that bothers me anymore in life than being bald.

I did forget to mention one thing. I have been taking Vitamin A for like a year. It gave me a nice skin color and people complimented me... I kept taking it. I bought a retinol version not realizing it wasnt beta carotene. I know both are probably bad and now I have totally discontinued it. That was my original reason for actually looking into this. I'm not in denial, I would just like to talk to some people that have more knowledge than myself. I clearly don't know much and the vitamin A might have been a culprit

They try to convince themselves and others that their hairloss is caused by something else. 98percent of hairloss in men is male pattern baldness. There was a full Norwood 6 on here last week trying to say his hairloss was not male pattern baldness and was probably caused by vitamin deficiency.

Generally speaking vitamins are not the culprit. You would need to be downing a bottle of those a day to have an effect on hair loss.

As for solutions rogaine and finasteride are the only meds that have an effect on male pattern baldness. I’m about you age 24 and I have not gotten side effects from either. Although this is debated on the forum I personally don’t believe vitamins or natural remedies do anything for male pattern baldness

I would see a hair loss specialist or dermatologist

Thanks I appreciate your advice man. I just asked my friend. I have been on max dose lamictal 4 months ago i started it... 3 months ago hair stylist made comments. This is quite interesting. I will look into your advice. Have you heard of Lamictal or any Anti Epileptic drugs doing this?

Lol I gave you the answer already. You have male pattern baldness. I know you want it to be something else but I’m sorry you are balding. It is NOT medication induced hairloss

To be more specific medication induced hair loss by lamical would be an overall thinning of every hair. It would not cause a receding hairline or temporal loss you have.

It is really better to just deal with male pattern baldness rather than looking up types of hairloss. 98% of the time it is male pattern baldness. And I don’t exaggerate. In your case because of the way your hairline is receding, I am certain that male pattern baldness is the cause

Agree with obesecat on this.

Hair loss related to medications, deficiency or illness would not give you classic male pattern baldness recession. It's quite rare and usually results in hair loss all over with often the eyebrows and body hair affected.

It would be more similar to this

You have recession, temporal point loss and what appears miniaturization which is classic of male pattern baldness. Also your dad and grandfather's bald, the likelihood of male pattern baldness is close to 100%
