Is This Male Pattern Baldness? Picture Attached

Long story short: I've been on finasteride + min for almost 2 years now (started June 2015) to treat the start of a receding hairline (link to thread: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...dil-hair-loss-treatment-progress-story.98472/) .
My crown has been fine for as long as I can remember. However, I recently had a look at the back of my head and there seems to be an area where my scalp seems 'whiter'/ is showing through. It seems linked to my cowlick at the top right of my head, however it seems to be too low to be male pattern baldness at the crown. Any thoughts on what that could be? Maybe it's just the way my hair grows? (I recently shaved my head)

Here's an image:

do you have bed hair in that pic? I know my crown can look like that at times with messy unwashed hair. Its really hard to say tbh. You can find out really quick by shaving your head to a 1 or 2.

Just shaved my head. Here are a few pics of my crown area. The quality isn't the greatest cos it's pretty difficult taking a picture of the back of my head.

I feel like this is an important addition: I bleached my hair around december last year and had scabs on my scalp from the burns (not going back to that hair salon, obviously). The scabs were mainly in that area where it seems to be 'whiter' , so if it isn't hair loss then its the bleach?

I would say no, but would tell more accurately if you show your hairline / temples too

Edit: too bad you shaved your head before taking the pic

After checking your thread I'm going to say that you are being extremly overcautious. It's not a bad thing in hair loss, even I noticed early temple recession when everyone else told me I was being delusional. The truth is that nobody will know the situation of your hair loss better than yourself.
However I'm guessing that you're 21 years old with insanely thick hair already as it is with next to no recession with how it currently looks.

About your crown, I would say that you have nothing to worry about right now. I see no hair loss there at all. Also because you are using finasteride, with the results I see on your hairline I'm just guessing that you have nothing to worry about for now, really.

It's good to be early with preventing hair loss. I see you've now taken finasteride and not been experiencing any problems with it.
I wouldn't recommend finasteride to anyone based on my unfortunately terrible experience with it, but if you're determined to use it I would just stick with that. I don't think Minoxidil is even necessary at your stage of hair loss. If you stop with it though you will experience shedding of hair.

Maybe not everyone share the same view as me on your situation. But I have to say that I noticed early temple recession at the age of 16 and been trying many various methods treating it with an without success. 8 years later I'm a NW1.5 - 2 (at worst but slowly progressing) with probably no crown hair loss as of yet even though I've been tormented with alot of itchiness (inflammation) in my problem areas.

Try not to worry too much, Good luck.

If you're already on Finasteride I wouldn't worry; it's not going to go anywhere anytime soon.

Wow, I wasn't expecting an essay in response. Thanks for that. Really calmed my nerves.
