Is This Male Pattern Baldness At 20?

Hi I’m at a 20 year old male and have been noticing my hairline thinning around the temples. Baldness does not run in family at an early age, although some of my male family members are norwood 5, i have some who are norwood 1 at age 70 on my moms side. Cant say for my dad as I have never seen him.

I’ve visited a dermatologist who says that I am not balding or receding however my family doctor has diagnosed me with male pattern baldness, so I’m really confused at the moment.

At this point would I be considered to have male pattern baldness and should I start taking the appropriate medication, e.g finasteride or minodixil?

it looks good your hair ... use finasteride to prevent that you no longer have to worry ... if you have baldness you got it in time ... but I do not think you have baldness ☺

Thanks for your reply. Would it be good to start finasteride even if I’m not balding yet? I heard it gets less effective overtime and can come with a lot of harmful side effects for my age.

the worst is that it generates erectile dysfunction ... you notice it quickly ... if that happens you stop using it and everything is normal ...

Ok that makes sense. Should I start taking finasteride right away or is it a good idea to wait till im older so its more effective and less risky?

from 18 you can use it ... the younger it is the better ... I use it since the 22nd ... it's not magic ... but there are people who keep it well

at the moment your hair is going well ... for me you do not have anything ... wait a while and if you see that enpears it starts with finasteride
