Is this low libido?

Hi guys,

hopefully this is in the right forum..

i've been on the big 3 for 5 months now and have had fantastic results - going from a 1.5 to .5. I did have pics up in the success story forum but deleted due to privacy concerns.

so onto my issue..

i'm 23, single, and I have no desire to meet females. Just this weekend I had 4 dates lined up but canceled all of them in favour of going out with my friends.

i've felt like this for about a month now, chat to female - organise date - cancel because would rather do something else

i still want sex, when I eventually have forced myself to seeing a fwb i have no problems at all, it just seems to be the initial move..

Could this be as a result of finasteride? It's actually getting quite frustrating now (again, not sexually but finding the motivation to actually meet up with a girl)

Has anyone else felt like this?

Start lifting weights and take zinc.

Edit: how often do you think about penises?

I lift 6 times a week - 6'1 185lbs 11-12%

what benefit would?

re your edit, didn't know this forum had trolling, if I were homosexual I'd state it..

What trolling? wat are you talking about?

6 times is rather high. You could be overtraining. I don't feel as energetic and eager after 3 days of training and im not even on finasteride.

zinc makes me extremely horny, but i still need days off from the gym.

Abstract

Sexual side effects of Finasteride seem to be redoubtable, being encountered not only during therapy but also after treatment cessation. Consequently, any possible clinical/ paraclinical elements that might predict these adverse effects would be useful in the selection of a therapeutic strategy for male androgenic alopecia. Previous published studies show that some compounds that interfere with sexual hormones can decrease sexual activation and response, according to hand preference (as reported for finasteride and tamoxifen) and according to sexual orientation (as noted for bicalutamide). Our preliminary published data and the arguments presented here suggest that these two individual parameters might be used by dermatologists in the therapeutic approach of male androgenic alopecia, so as to alert specific subsets of men, prior to treatment, of the potential increased risk for developing adverse effects to finasteride. You can only compare your libido to where it was five months before, when medication wasn't involved.

Was it the same back then? Here is a government study link, but this doesn't really apply to most men. And for the record,
I take Finasteride.

Here is some good information for you: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25871957

thank you, however my question was really.. Is a lack of motivation to meet girls a loss of libido, even if you still get morning wood/horny throughout the day?

Experiment with your sexuality on Grindr.

Maybe a big hard throbbing c*** will set off the fireworks you're looking for.

Firspost links to a study saying right-handed men are more likely to suffer side effects from finasteride.

The reference to that claim is this study:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23157321
Involving 33 Romanian men, 19 were right-handed and 14 were left-handed.

Small sample size. Totally useless.

Of course, that's why after reading that I could get more pussy in a week than you will get in your lifetime, you felt the need to post something rude and unecessary.

EDIT:

I was never a loser, but I wasn't very desirable as a teenager. I was skinny, balding and had horribly low self-esteem. I still managed to semi-date, and hook up with women, but my actual numbers were far from their potential comparing to how many women were down to be with me in relation to how many I actually perused.

On top of having horribly low self-esteem, and balding as a teenager it messed with my physical and social development. A lot of balding men in their late twenties, and thirties are blessed... because they had the chance to develop that confidence that's derived from experience in earlier years that transcends to to who they re today. men who bald, but have no experience suffer the most. It took me many years, and is still an on going process to help gain that experience that I never formed while I was a young teenager.

I have transcended into an entirely new person, and am doing much better today then I was as a teenager. How many people do you know in their twenties that make a six figure income, are muscular, and have a full head of hair. Given these traits, i'm at the highest percentile of my age group. When I go to the gym, and public settings I notice lot's of women trying to maintain, and lock eye contact. When our eyes collide it's a mutual smile between us. I experience this ALL the time. I don't know if I'm handsome, because I have suffered from terrible BDD since I was a child, and is still something I'm recovering from today. But from experience, and dating online and in physical presence I have no trouble at obtaining a women's interest if I put in the effort. But as I mentioned, I'm so locked within my emotions, that it's a constant roller coaster that I don't know if I will ever be able to endure, and recover from.

Most of you don't know **** about baldness, except a hand full like Fred, UC and Exodus who have experienced the real pain associated with premature baldness in their teens. I say FEEL my pain, because Ive been going through torture since I was fifteen. I get a kick out of these threads with guys posting their full heads with a **** hair off temple loss, and are absolutely devastated by such metro sexual desires. Almost to the point where I want these guys to feel real Androgenetic Alopecia pain. I wouldn't be surprised if they tied a noose around them self. This metro sexual generation is a complete joke, and im a product, and on going result of it.

Ah yes I was right, you were and always will be a mentally ill virgin loser..

Hey Spurs, unless its affecting your life then have no worries. Honestly, when I was sleeping with a new woman each week it wasn't a happy time for me - it was quite the opposite.

The reason you aren't excited about the women you are going to meet is either you feel no connection or you're scared of meeting someone.

On a side note, do you still shake hands with the one eyed monster?

Hi mate, thank you; i did think this.. Maybe sleeping around just isn't my thing. I've only been single for the past year having been in a relationship for all of my adult life. Unfortunately yes I do choke the chicken - on average twice a day. May give no fap a go and see if that changes my outlook.

Cheers

Good effort! Going a few weeks without holding your sausage hostage should give you a better idea if its the finasteride.

If you do then you have no libido issues.

I'd recommend no fap. I've never managed to do these 90 day streaks but even when I go over seven days I become a lot more energized and, obviously, a lot more horny.

If you're masturbating twice a day then I would think you're not having libido issues, although you also have to consider whether you're doing it out of force of habit or boredom, vs actually being driven to do so. In my case Finasteride had an impact beyond just wanting to get off less, it also seemed to lessen my motivation and general "zest" for life. I think a lot more of our overall well being is tied to libido than generally thought. With that said finasteride does theoretically effect neurosteroid levels (allopregnanolone) as well, so that may lead to depression.
