is this hair loss or shedding ( 18 yr old )

hi im 18 almost 19 and recently iv noticed a LOT of hair coming out very easily .
if i shampoo i loose between 30 - 70 hairs depending on how rough i am with my hair .
non shampoo days i usually wash my hair water only i loose around 20 hairs .
after showers i put oil on my hair and when i run my fingers through i can count around 5 hairs each time , all together i loose around another 20 - 30 hairs doing that . this has just recently started around 3 weeks ago . i havent noticed my hair becoming thinner but i have notices my temples receding . a lot more on the right . today i ran my hands through my hair and found around 20 hairs on my hands
could this be because my hair is very long no ( the longest its been ) , due to hormones , stress. or is this early signs of male pattern baldness ( not many / or any bald people in my direct family ) .
pic is of the amount of hair that came out during shampoo wash .. BTW i have very thick curly hair

If you are able to have at least a good derm. evaluate your scalp please do so as soon as you can.
Try to get him/her to write you script for Nizoral 2% shampoo.
If it turns out to be male pattern baldness/Androgenetic Alopecia add at least generic minoxidil 5% to your treatment.

Today morning lossed around 40 hairs in shower
Most hairs are long ( i have short hair on sides so most are from top and back )
No one im my direct family has male pattern baldness . This happend last yr at around the same time but not as much hair used to come out and my hair line was not effected .

could it be due to diet ? , the last 3 months my diet has been rubbish usually only eating around 1 good meal a day and rest would be snacks / junk

It's really hard to tell but it does look like there could be some thinning in your temples, you do have a pretty good hairline going on though. I think it would be best if you made an appointment with a dermatologist and asked them what they think, make sure you mention Finasteride. Just in case you are new to this type of thing Propecia is the name brand and Finasteride is the generic version, they are equally effective as far as we know.

thanks for the reply mpbsux20 , i am loosing a bunch of hair in the shower and seeing a lot more gaps in hair what do you think the reason is if its not male pattern baldness ?

Could be some other underlying factor. Your hairline and crown shown no signs of male pattern baldness. Consult your general physician first.

hi an update it looks like patches are forming on the sides of my head . could this be diffuse thinning ? what other signs would show it is diffuse thinning ?

Get yourself checked out, that seems far too aggressive for regular balding.
