Is This Bald Spot Indicating Hair Loss Or Is It Normal?

I noticed today after showering a bald spot on vertex, I took a picture on restroom and it looks bad. I took another picture an hour later at work and it looks better. I’m wondering if the spot is a sign of losing hair. Cannot explain why it looked worse this morning, but I’m concerned about this.

Its big swirl for me, looks fine buddy
Thanks for the response, I was freaking out, I asked a co-worker to take a look and she told me that looks fine. All males from my mom's side of the family are going bald(uncles and cousings), so i am always hoping for the gene to skip me. My fathers side of the family all have full hair even at an old age, but I now Mom side is the one with the impact on generics.

have you been seeing an increase in the amount of hairs you lose lately?
Its hard to say. I was paying attention for the past two days, and did see hair on my pillow(15=20) when waking up. However, not all of the hairs were the same size. Some were my current length, most were really short length(half or less of current length). This concerned me. I wash my pillow covers every week, so was not sure as to why the really short hairs on pillow. Only thing comes to mind is that old hair got to pillow since I have a ceiling fan going on all day, and maybe some hair gets their from floor that vacuum did not pick up.During the shower and applying gel, maybe 20 hairs same size. Every time I let my hair grow(3 months without cutting it) I notice the same thing(for the past 10 years or so). I always freak out about it, but when cutting my hair back to short, I stop paying attention. I just never checked the back of my head, and when I saw it today I was concerned.

First picture shows more empty space than the other two. I asked a friend to check and she says she sees it as regular hair, but was wondering if I should be concerned or not. I do not see any difference on the front.

U have some receding hairline, the sides are receding slowly to form the typical M shape. You may want to consider starting on Minoxidil 5%. I saw 2 dermatologists from the same skin centre, the senior doctor said I was not balding while the second junior doctor said I was showing early sign of typical male pattern baldness. Had I believed in the first doctor, I would probably bald more than now. For me, I see miniaturisation in my hair by rubbing my palms across my scalp during bathing. Sometimes I see hair that is thicker at the end and gradually thinning along the length, and also more hair when I rub across the hair swirl region which I intepreted as more shedding around this region. Some may argue as being over paranoid though.

I was looking at a picture from 2011, and I have the same M shaped back them. There is a small mole or black mark on my forehead around the area where one of the sizes of M stats on hairline, the disctance between my hair and that mole is still the same as 7 years ago. Can any dermatologist help predict this, or it has to be one from those hair transplant clinics?

That hairline probably has remained unchanged but the temple area might have receded to give the slight M shape. You may want to compare with an even earlier photo.

I scheduled an appointment to see a dermatologist on Wednesday to see what they can do, or what they say. If anything, I would like to start the finasteride as it seems is the next logical step.

You don't have any hairloss. But it's prudent to go to derm to check things out. You just have a big swirl like me and I'm not balding as confirmed by my derm
