Is this a norwood 2 or 3?

I'm definitely receding in the hairline, hair is thick and great at the crown. You can kinda see there's a few spuds holding on to dear life on the temples especially on the right side. Would Finasteride be a good treatment for me?

I say NW3.

finasteride would be your best bet. If for nothing else than to maintain what you have.

Ok thanks. Would transplant be my only option to improve it? Will finasteride just stop any more receding?

Your hair could grow back, but you'd need to get on finasteride to stabilize your hairloss first. You don't want to get a hair transplant and then find out that the rest of your hair is going to eventually fall out
