is this a norwood 2? or worse?, ive posted many times and i know you guys hate my posts and you think i do it to show off my hair, and i seriously dont, but i cant help but see a Norwood 2.5/nw3, the crown is thick and so is the hair on top i think, its just the recession, is it nw2 territory or Norwood 3? i kinda wish i kept pics from my first post so i could have compared, i think from the front my hairline looks pretty bad and heavily receeded, but from the sides it looks decent, my own judgement is horrible on this, ive been to a derm and he pretty much laughed in my face, my family thinks im crazy cause theres no history of hairloss in my family, and i drive them nuts with this hairloss phobia i have, i drive you guys nuts cause i post on here alot about the same stuff and im sorry, but i just want to know what textbook Norwood my hairline is and thanks..

Re: is this a norwood 2

wow you have receded alot since your last pictures and your hair is thinning down the middle. I guess that normal for most people in their late 20's.

Near NW3 - Are you joking?

Look at the scale and think to yourself, does you hair look anything like that....

Do you maybe have a pic that shows your hairline about 2-3 years ago?

my hairline changed when i was 13, thats when it matured to where it is now

heres a pic at 12, with no recession before my hairline matured

and 6 months after that picture my hairline matured when i was 13 and its still the same i think as it is in this picture, lol least if i end up balding i can say i tried different hairstyles lol
n512016863_514832_2280.jpg

and my hairline in late 2007, which is what exactly what my hair is now, except as you can see, i shaved the peak off, you can also see the spots from folliculitis
n512016863_588866_6398.jpg

and my hairline this summer
n516100467_3575561_4461.jpg

and my hair in december 2008

but not to make excuses for what might be, but my widows peak does make my hairline seem worse, if i shave it off, it looks decent

Really, you look alot more mature than 19 years old. I would definitely watch things closely now because you definitely have shown some increase in your recession but overall your hair seems thick. Your obsession with your hair is going to give you some telogen effluvium thinning if you keep worrying about it. However, I cannot afford to talk since I have the same problem with the obsession. However, when I was your age, I never became obsessed with hairloss until the last 3 years and I am way older than you. Enjoy your life kid, stop with the constant posting of these pictures. If you are not sure, get your scalp tested for miniaturization and see if you have enough that should indicate using Propecia. I know how you feel. My hair changes constantly and some days it looks worse and some days it looks better. But I don't post 20 shots of my hair every month like you do and ask for some online advice. I go to very reliable hair transplant to find out what is going on with my hair. Go to Dr Rahal who practices in Canada where you live and ask him help with your master plan for your future of your hair or some doctor who specializes in hair loss. If I showed my hair on here, most would say I don't have anything to worry about especially at my age. But the hair transplant Doctor said I definitely have some density loss but not enough for a transplant. So posting pictures every week will not give you the best answer always.

i did man, i friggin went 3 hours away to the nearest derm to get it tested, he ran this little scope through my hair and checked the density throughout the scalp, he said it was all good, when i asked if i was loosing my hair, he just laughed at me and told me not to worry. but here i am still worrying. i really dont feel like my hairs gotten any worse in the past 2 years at least, the same recession.

Re: is this a norwood 2

wow, even at 13 years old you looked like a 19 year old. You matured fast. When I was 24 I Iooked like you at 13. Maybe you just have matured fast at an early age and now things will level off. The fact that you got tested should be enough for you to stop worrying. I am thinking maybe because I physically matured very late in life, I got lucky and now my hairloss just developed later in life too. Another words, things were offset for me and now they are starting to genetically express later in life.

Re: is this a norwood 2

the derm i went to told me that since my hairline mature early(13), that my horomone levels have probably stabled and the dht levels were already at their highest peak, and are probably lower now and any hairloss beyond what i have now would have already happened. he said that people who usually develop the mature hairline who have the male pattern baldness gene usually continue and are a Norwood 3 by 17/18. that didnt sound right to me since i thought that its just genetically determined, although my dad said his hair matured at 13 as well, so im hoping i will take after him as it is a definate safe zone from male pattern baldness. i dont know, ive shaved my head many times, it somewhat suits me, so if i do loose my hair, ill just shave it, that would suck though if i loose my hair and my friggin dad at the age of 90 will still have his thick and healthy norwood 2. id be the first bald guy in my family, i seriouly dont know any, my moms side the guys are really hairy(italian) and i have the dark hair and body hair etc, and they have all their hair too, mixes of nw1's and nw2's. but def. no one i have seen in my family was ever past nw3. my dads side has amazing hair genes, when i was looking through old pics when my grandfather died, EVERYONE had hair thick nw1's and nw2's, there was only one nw3 (my dads maternal grandfather). so i know my background for hair is pretty good and better than most, my brother isnt balding at 27, hes a nw2 also, but i kno thats not a good way to determine if i will loose mine or not, but yeah

You made a good point. You look fine with long hair or a shaved head. If I looked good with a shaved head, I probably would not care either. I would look just like Keannu Reeves when he buzzed his head for some of his movies. I don't think he looks too good with a shaved head. People with long faces or heads with a squarish jaw and large foreheads do not look good with buzz cuts. You have a great forehead and rounder shaped face so it looks good on you. However, you look better in your December pic 2008 than your how your hair is currently. Stop worrying. Your lucky with that family history. The hair transplant I went to was stunned how I much I have beat genetics considering my dad starting balding at 18 years old. However, his brother who is older still has a full head of hair. So you just don't know what will happen. My mom's brother had a full head of hair and my dad's brother did too so maybe that is how I might have been somewhat genetically blessed so far.

Dude, I'd be more concerned with the fact that you're only 19 but look 30+.

Your hair looks great though. That's just your hairline man. The areas in the Norwood zone so to speak look perfect - no thinning at all. Stop worrying! (and start buying beer for your friends or something)

Now he is going to post a thousand pictures asking us which one makes him look 19 years old again. :shakehead:

Re: is this a norwood 2

It's the facial hair that makes him look mature. I agree that he looks a few years older than 19, but he doesn't look that old.

TBH, when I was 18-19, I probably looked a bit older than my peers as well. It's never caused me any problems though.

Re: is this a norwood 2

At that age it's 'cool' to look older, providing you look old not because of negative things e.g. wrinkles/hairloss/grey hair etc.

Chicks love the mature face/facial hair at 18-20, as at that age most girls go for older guys anyway.
