Yeah medicine is a pretty unique branch of science really. Its not actually that much science compared to the more pure sciences listed in the other examples. The human body has numerous factors that make learning about it much much tougher than it is to learn more about more traditional sciences.
It is also very complicated, but part of the complexity is how hard it is to figure out what does what.
