who has been on any hair loss treatments that has maintained/kept, and or grown back all of their hair? And I don't mean someone who has been on treatments for only 2 months.

NO ONE CAN REGROW THEIR ENTIRE TEENAGE LION'S MANE BACK

Neither current treatment or even a great hair transplant can give you 100% of your thickness/density back. The sooner you accept that very simple premise the sooner you can develop realistic expectations.

With current treatments it *IS* reasonable to expect a slowing down of the male pattern baldness process. It should also be possible to completely halt the progression of male pattern baldness so long as you are a good responder and you didnt wait too long to get on treatments.

Finally, it is reasonable to say that 60% or so of men on Finasteride do get some regrowth and thickening... While there are some "super" responders who make huge gains, you should keep *your* expectations to "moderate" regrowth/thickening IF you're one of those 60% who even get any regrowth/thickening.

Regardless of whether your an "average" responder or a "super" responder you will NEVER get all your hair back. That is just the way the ball bounces with current treatments.

I'm not trying to be a downer just wanting to give you the real low-down on treatments. I've been on Finasteride for about 14 months and been using Nizoral for about 10 months or so.

I personally responded well to treatments and I got some moderate thickening of existing hairs and, as of today, I am better off then where I was 14 months ago.

I have read plenty of post of guys who been on Finasteride 3 - 5 yrs + who are either maintaining or greatly slowed their male pattern baldness from progressing... The key is to stick with treatments and not to have unrealistic expectations!

Good luck :)

Full Head Of Hair, no, I have not grown back all of my hair, but I have maintained and also have seen my hair quality, health and some vellus hairs pigment and grow. I've been using Low Level Laser Therapy for the last two and a half years. Results so far have been something to write home about:)

Thx for the replies guys. The reason I ask is I'm 23, and started treatments 3 weeks ago. I have (as my name suggests) a full head of hair. I have very minor recession on my right temple and very minor thinning on top. I only noticed this because I'm extremely vain and check my hair out everyday for like the past 5 years

Basically I'm asking, since I caught this at the very beginning, can I keep all that I got now if I'm a good responder?

Interestingly, over the recent bank holiday a pal and I did a "Per-Square-Inch" count on my head (Not on my own, hehe). If I include the hairs which are only slightly thicker than vellus, we worked out that I have regained about 65% of my hairs in the last 18 months.

This does take some liberties, namely:
- The thicker hairs will continue to mature.
- The "measurements" were taken from at least two inches from my current hairline, and not counting any area recently treated by hair transplant.
- Vellus hair on the "mature" sample were also not counted.

We'll do the test again in another six months.
