I've eaten 5/4 mg Proscar for 5 years.
But nothing happened.
So I decide to take more of it per day.
Is there anyone did that and regroth your hair?
And is there any side effect to take 5/2 mg Proscar per day??
Thanks anyway.

proscar (finasteride) works just like propecia - theyre both finasteride.

the reason propecia is sold as 1mg, whereas proscar is 5mg, is that theres not much difference between the effects of 1mg and 5mg. in fact, the difference is very very negligible.

so, upping your dose like that is likely to have little or no effect whatsoever. however, ive studies have shown that the higher the dose, the greater the chances/strength of side effects. thus, more proscar (5mg) users see side effects than propecia (1mg) users.

id suggest sticking with your dose of proscar, but if youre not seeing any results, add minoxidil 5% twice daily, and nizoral 2% shampoo 2-3x per week to your regimen. good luck.

THANK YOU.
I'VE USED minoxidil 5% twice daily ABOUT 4 WEEKS, BUT HAVE SERIOUS HEARTACHE SIDE EFFECT.
SO STOP USING IT.
NOW I USE CRINAGEN AS PLACEBO.
IS THERE ANY OTHER TREATMENT LIKE minoxidil?

True, but the higher incidence at 5mg compared to 1mg is at least partially explained by the fact that the participants in the finasteride trials for BPH (taking 5mg) were older men, on average, than the participants in the finasteride trials for male pattern baldness (taking 1mg).
