Is there any point in taking finasteride if you use RU?

Currently weighing the pros and cons of the anti-androgen's available. If RU does what it's purported to do, shield the follicle under the skin it's applied to from dht, then it seems there would be no reason to systematically lower dht with finasteride/dutasteride. What finasteride has going for it is it's convenience(just pop a pill) and the fact that it's fda approved. If RU is really effective though, it seems strange that it's never gotten the push necessary for the research required that could get it on the market as a legitimate treatment for male pattern baldness.

finasteride is superior to RU,

RU doesn't absorb that effectively through topical administration. Where as finasteride is transported directly through the blood, and has no pathways, and blocks.

Androgenetic Alopecia affects the whole scalp not just the frontal region where we typically apply.

it's best to use both.

They have different methods of action. Both are flawed. You should use both at the same time.

I would say finasteride is best for sure just based on evidence. The state of male pattern baldness treatment right now is throw as much crap at the wall as you can and see what sticks. More is always better but use the proven stuff first. Yeah I am in similar situation wondering what option is best. IMO your much better off trying topical finasteride or even oral finasteride before going down the road of RU. RU is just too unproven, and just because no one knows the risks doesnt mean there arent any. Stick to the proven stuff. ignoring the fact RU comes from random place in china and who knows the purity and all that stuff. finasteride is the same every time you buy it.
