Hi

I was just wondering is there a time span for Propecia and minoxidil before there potency wear's off? I've heard they have a 5 year time span effectiveness then the body becomes immune to the drug and they stop fuctioning as well as they did before...Is this true or not? Are there people out there who have used it for years and still get the same results?

PS. Also just want to say I'm new to this site. But just reading the forum has helped me out so much.

Thanks
Ant

If you follow the propecia link you will see that the ongoing 6 year clinical trials show that responding men have kept their original hair count. So I guess it is working.

here's my results. i was on propecia for nine months and 5% minoxidil for four months before i started to see significant improvement. i am 25. my hair was never that bad, but i definitely had thinning on the frontal (not vertex) area. i have a family history of balding, so i know i was going to lose more. since i started minoxidil after propecia, i don't know which one has helped me the most. but i am happy, so i will continue to use both. although i know minoxidil doesn't help in frontal baldness, i believe it has helped me. i applicate the liquid on the vertex of my head, as indicated. anyway, my results are determined by the thinning area and the amount of hair in my brush. the thinning area has filled up, and my brush no longer contains hair. i am pleased.

They have to say that since they only tested the Vertex in the FDA trials, same thing for propecia.

So yes it did indeed help you. minoxidil and finasteride has saved me big time. I only had loss on the front.
