i see so much advice and discussion on this board about the regaine/revogaine/minoxidil that i am struggling to work out what does what?

i will strart on proscar next week and will be looking at nizoral twice a week and a topical solution to stimulate hair-growth (temples mainly.)

which would be better for me? rogaine/revogaine/minoxidil/regaine??

if you cant say what will be better for ME, could you highlight what each one is supposed to do?

Thank-you.

Regaine, Rogaine and minoxidil are the same thing.

Revivogen is a different product entirely.

Regaine is the brand name sold in Europe
Rogaine is the brand name sold in the USA

They are both identical minoxidil formulas.

They both come as 5% or 2% strengths.

Other manufacturers make their own minoxidl formulas, like Kirkland, Dr Lee and so on.

Minoxidil is the magic stuff in Regaine/Rogaine/DrLees/Kirkland etc etc that stimulates hair growth.

You really want to be using a 5% version twice a day to stimulate hair growth, both Regaine 5% and Rogaine 5% (depending on where you live) are quite greasy and take a long time to dry (for me it was sometime like 3 hours!!!), so my recommendation to you would be to try Dr Lees Standard Minoxidil formula it contains less of the PPG that make normal minoxidil formulas so greasy and drys in around 10 minutes.

The PPG is mainly included in greasy versions of minoxidil (like Rogaine and Kirklands) to extend shelf life.

Doctor Lees minoxidil can only be bought from http://www.Xandrox.com the one you want is Product 500

Also I hope you are aware that the Proscar you bought should be divided up into 5 pieces (I realise the pill is already very small) and one piece should be taken everyday, this gives you 1mg of finasteride everyday from Proscars 5mg finasteride tablet

Good Luck!!!

Happy growing!!!

GIVE IT TIME !!!!!!

Ditto what Tynan says but I would give finasteride a few months on its own before you add minoxidil. You may be happy with the results and decide you dont need minoxidil.

Alot of people would tell you that applying minoxidil twice a day is a bit of a pain and takes a little bit of getting used to. If you are just starting a regimen the best advice I can give you is cut your proscar or take propecia. Alot of people can get away with taking 1.26 mg of finasteride (proscar cut) without anyside. Me being on propecia 1mg I have experiance no sides and it seems that i'm responding well to the treatment. To compliment finasteride, i recommend you use Nizoral shampoo at least twice a week. Keeping your scalp healthy for the finasteride to work is key. If you experiance any irritation you could always use copper peptides. whether it be American crew revitalize or tricomin spray. My last resort would be minoxidil and I am hoping that I can go without it... at least for a while.
