Is Shedding Essential For Minoxidil To Work?

People have said shedding means its working, but Im a week into minoxidil use and Ive noticed none.

Background:

I started actively fighting my hair loss after a very bad recent shead where thinning became significantly worse besides my extremely receded hairline and ever expanding bald spot. I'd say I'm probably norwood 4 and likely headed toward a 5.

Anyways Im 3 weeks into finasteride. I've noticed ZERO sides as of yet (my finasteride is shipped from lemon aid health so I question its efficacy since no sides whatsoever.)

As stated I began minoxidil liquid generic from target a week ago. Some days Ive used it once a day and some days twice. The reason for the once days is because I also bought nizoral shampoo which I use 3X a week and a derma roller which Ive tried out once. (Still not sure how Im supposed to balance use between minoxidil, nizoral, and derma roller)

It may just be optimism, but my hair seems slightly better than where it was 3 weeks ago. I know that's no real time for any observable results, and my hair has obviously grown some so its probably placebo. Anyways I haven't had a shed yet... Is this because I'm probably not a good respondent or can it be simply that minoxidil doesnt *have* to shed for everyone or maybe can it be just the timing of me starting after finasteride or that I started after a bad shed/thinning cycle took just place so my body doesn't signal it again?
